My Chick only walks backwards?

My friend he raises ducks and some of his will walk backward till they find the kiddie pool that he uses to teach them to swim because then they want to fallow mom( or him when he raises them) but the point is they want to fallow mom and they learn to get their weight under control and swim the right way but you have a sparrow and normally they should still be sitting in a nest so it is normal because they have not gotten their weight under control yet so don't worry but you may want to give a small helping hand. So maybe if you got a soft towel and made a artificle nest and have him/her sit in it then have a short gentle lesson on walking by like letting him walk then hold his fav. treat in front of himhe may walk forward.(bit I don't know for sure)
