Honestly, chances are slim for survival. However, it's not completely impossible, just don't rotate them and they may be fine. Signs of rotting are pretty obvious, turning nasty colors, stinking, and most importantly, the eggs shrinking. As a general rule, if the eggs start shrinking and rotting in the first few weeks they're no good. I wouldn't toss them just for mold or funny colors because I *have* seen animals hatch out of some nasty looking eggs, but as soon as they start shrinking we throw them away.
