Will my chicken incubate its eggs?

Yes they most likely will be fertalized as i have a rooster. There is a nest of about 16 eggs and the chicken has been a mother before but it wasnt sitting on the eggs its layed now. Why is this? I decided lock it in the hutch with all the eggs and food and water - will this encourage it to lay on the eggs?
