im incubating 17 chicken eggs well now 15 because the 2nd day of incubating the temp went up to 105 degrees and that kills them but i did not give up yesterday the temp went down to 90 degrees for maybe an hour and last night it went up to 105 degrees i don't know for how long i did not menching i separated the eggs in to 2 groups the ones that look healthy (i did candling) and the ones that don't. so today i took an egg from the good pile and cracked it outside, it had veins in it (today is day 5 of incubating)it looked healthy and growing so i took one from the bad pile and cracked it had veins like the other one but looked much bigger and healthy so do u think the other eggs are still alive do u think i should still incubate them? will they still hatch?

EMERGENCY HELP WITH GOOSE EGG?

My friend and I discovered an abandoned goose egg approximately 10 days ago. We have it in an incubator at the correct temp/humidity/turning etc. The embryo seems to be rather large and I am almost positive that the egg is much more than 2 weeks old. It is obvious that the embryo has grown and developed in the time period we've had it. Despite the fact that it seems to be growing, we have observed no movement, but heard some possible movement with a stethoscope. HOWEVER there appears to be a liquid which is slightly colored that is being secreted from the end with the air pocket. We candled it and the air pocket is still present and I am worried that the embryo may have died while incubating? There is no rotten egg smell though..

Abandoned quail nest?

I have a quail nest in my backyard. Started with 16 eggs. The father is nesting them. The other day i found that there were only 14 eggs. One egg broken open and inside emptied, and another broken but insides intact but both left at nest. Today i found the nest in disarray, feathers around, and so on. There are only 8 eggs now, no sign of the father, and the eggs are cold. Only found one egg broken and the inside emptied. All others have disappeared. What would have done this? A roadrunner? Chick hatched late and needed help, description of its status below, what can I do to help it?

We (my animal science class) began incubating the eggs on Friday, April 29. We ordered them through the mail and through candling found that most of their air cells were slightly off-kilter. 3 out of 38 hatched over the weekend and are now doing quite well. You can try to streak out the plates and let them grow at 37 C overnight and see what grows. If you get nothing it means the bacteria or dead or the slant was never inoculated. As a last ditch effort you could try to add few milliliters of sterile phosphate buffered saline to the head space and shake vigorously for a few seconds. You could then do serial dilutions of this suspension and plate them out on agar plates. (incubate at 37 C overnight). If that doesn't work, you could always try to isolate some off your own body. I am sure it is there along with a lot of other cool stuff.

Facebook contacts not linking correctly on htc sense...need help?

I recently got an HTC sense and I think its great how you can link your contacts to their facebooks, however, I do not want all of my Facebook friends on my contacts because 3/4 I don't even talk to. I could only get one of my contacts to link and then for some reason, it stopped working. The link option is still present, but when I try to link the contacts, it doesn't work. It shows the unlink grey symbol, instead of the green link symbol. And when I switch from unlink and click done, it doesn't do what it was supposed to. Answers and help would be great, I'm confused! I bought a sidekick lx off a guy on craigslist for $50. It's got a few kinks but all-in-all it was a good deal. It's not jailbroken yet but I unlocked it to take my at&t card. My biggest problem seems to be that the phone thinks I'm making a phone call. There's a little phone symbol at the top by the service bars and it won't let me online b/c it says I can't use the network while on the phone.. but I'm not on the phone!! My iPod's data was erased !?

So I was in Mexico for 1 week and a half and since there is no computer to plug my iPod into I took my wall adapter. The iPod was working fine until the last 3 days I was there I connected it as usual to the wall adapter and then on the screen was a picture of an adapter pointing to an iTunes symbol . I figured this meant I had to connect it to a computer with iTunes so when I got home last night from mexico, I connected to my computer and it went immediately to iTunes and it said I had to restore it so I clicked OK & i left it there to do it's technical thing. After it was done restoring I didnt know it was gonna erase everything ! Why did my iPod do this out of the nowhere ? I wasn't having any technical problems with it ??? My sister's iPod said the same thing. It said "connect to iTunes" . is there anyway to put all my old data back into it. I had games that I payed for in it ! :(

I found an unbroken egg in my front yard?

OK, so I was outside in my front yard and I found what seems to be an American Robin's egg. It was sitting there, all alone, not broken. I looked around for nests or near by birds, but there were none. So I left it there and went inside to tell my Mom. I looked around from my front door for a while, but nothing showed up. So I went to feeders supply and bought a heating pad and a little critter container. First I put a flashlight to the back of the egg to see if it was alive. It didn't look like it had started developing, but I incubated it anyway. It's now a week later and I've been checking on the egg. Just today I did the flashlight thing again and found a fetus/embryo and a bunch of veins, so I know It's alive. I called feeders supply to ask what to feed it and they gave me a number of a professional songbird specialist. I called her and she told me to buy chicken Gerber baby food. I plan to make sure the bird hatches properly and survives the first few days. The only thing I'm worried about is whether it will be able to fend for itself in the wild. What should I do when it has grown up? What if I try to release it, but it doesn't leave because it imprints on me and thinks I'm it's mother?

Why does runes of magic keep on crashing?

every time i try to play runes of magic, it crashes. it worked fine on the first day i downloaded it, then on the second, i had to update my computer for it to work. there are no more updates for my computer at the moment so i dont know how to make it work. i dont think it is graphic card or memory, scimcy i got 50 gigabytes left and i alrwedy updated my video card driver. it always says that there was a error in the game and it had to shut down. i dont want to delete and re dowload since it takes about 2 days for it to coplete the download and hen update over and over again.

I found a robin building its nest inside of my dryer hose and i had to take it out. While i was taking it out i found one robin egg. I found 3 robin eggs and when I candled them I could see blood vessels and veins and could see a dark red spot inside one of them that could be a heart .I have put them in a basket with hamster fluff to swaddle them and a heat dish on low to try and incubate them.With two of them you can see yolk floats to the top when you turn it but the one with the heart no yolk does not float to the top.

Ok. My husband and I caught 8 softshell turtles. He killed them as he cleaned them. Ex- kill one clean it, kill another clean it. So they weren't left to ruin or anything. Anyway. 4 of them were females with fertilized eggs. So we kept the eggs (65 in all) and I have them under a lamp with damp sand on bottom and an aquarium heater in the sand that turns itself off when it reaches 80 degrees F. Our local pet store said anywhere between 75-90 is ok. And that is exactly what is going on. I can't find the perfect spot for the lamp the middle eggs are a tad too warm and the ones outside are a tad cool. I'm trying my best. But the lamp is a purple night heat bulb. Not sure wattage as we had to make do with what we had. Any suggestions? I didn't take the eggs from a nest. We took them directly from the turtle. And they have hardened and I'm assuming the air pocket in the egg is the white spot? I was trying to see how warm the egg was and that part of the shell got stuck to my thermometer =( I put a bandaid on the hole immediately. Not that it will actually work. But I'll try anything to save them. Help plz...

Honestly, chances are slim for survival. However, it's not completely impossible, just don't rotate them and they may be fine. Signs of rotting are pretty obvious, turning nasty colors, stinking, and most importantly, the eggs shrinking. As a general rule, if the eggs start shrinking and rotting in the first few weeks they're no good. I wouldn't toss them just for mold or funny colors because I *have* seen animals hatch out of some nasty looking eggs, but as soon as they start shrinking we throw them away.

Chinese Water Dragon Laying Eggs! Help?

My CWD is laying eggs. She has been to the vet and received an ultrasound and she laid one last week. No more yet but I got her a box to lay in with moist coconut soil and she has at least 6-7 left. you tip the eggs up and down. that way the chicken isn't stuck to the shell when born. twice a day. my incubator had little baskets on wire and i set the eggs right on it. when they hatch, i put then under a heat lamp with a rough floor. a slick floor will make them do the splits and they won't walk or grow right. this is fun. keep records. about 21 days at about 99 degrees. i had to keep the incubator moist as well.

Hello! My mother raises chickens as pets and for their eggs. For mothers day I want to buy her a rare breed I think she would enjoy. I cant find them for sale already hatched though, only eggs ready to be incubated. I dont want to buy an expensive incubator to use once, any ideas?

Please, do not use food coloring or something to that extent on the chicks. A lot of times, if a chick has a different mark (like paint or whatever), it will cause the other chicks to peck at it. Before you know it, they turn cannibalistic. They make bands for you to use to put on their legs. You can find them online, at a farm store, or maybe even at a vet's office. It is so much easier, and you don't have to redo it all the time. Once they get fully feathered (about two or three weeks after hatching), they will probably be easier to tell apart.

I would go back to the pet store and tell the guy that sold you the Cockatiel that she is laying eggs and unless he can provide you with a male, he better take her back! The male is responsible for helping the female. He will feed her so she can incubate the eggs. That was completely wrong and irresponsible for someone that works at a pet store to do that for you! The eggs may not be fertile. Just leave them in there until about 4 days old and candle them. Hold the egg up to a flashlight and if you see yolk and reddish membranes, they are fertile and she will NEED a male! These pet stores selling females to people by saying oh she will lay eggs makes me sick! Yes they most likely will be fertalized as i have a rooster. There is a nest of about 16 eggs and the chicken has been a mother before but it wasnt sitting on the eggs its layed now. Why is this? Is it ok to open incubator 3 times a day?( Day 22)?

I am incubating chicken eggs and today is day 22 almost 23. They are moving inside but no sign of hatching yet. I have the humidity 65-70%. Temp around 100-102F still air incubator. The reason why i am opening it 3 times a day is because i have to turn my duck eggs, but i open the incy for no more than 2 min. IS THAT OK? I HAVE TO......i also add hot water right away when i close the incy. The reason why my chicks are not hatching is because i thought the temp was suppose to be 99.5 and i found out it has to be 100-102 on an still air incy.
